Paying for Hospice Care

The Hospice Medicare Benefit reimburses expenses incurred in the palliative treatment of the patient's terminal condition. The program covers medications, medical equipment and hospice services provided by professional staff and volunteers.

Inpatient care at the Charlier Hospice Center may be covered by Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance or private payment.

A Hospice Team member assists patients in evaluating insurance benefits and helps find options for those without adequate financial resources.
